National Volunteer Week

How to take part

Free and safe. No fee, no student email, and no trip taken alone.

• Show up for a shift you already promised, or offer one hour to a group that posted a need.
• Thank a volunteer by naming the job, not with a gift you had to buy.
• Read a volunteer story and try a smaller version of the same help.

For classrooms

A short prompt for a teacher to use with children. This page is for adults.

Pick one on-campus job for the week, such as delivering attendance folders or weeding a school garden with a teacher. Off-campus work needs an adult the school already trusts.

More stories a teacher can read aloud are in the Kids section.
