Cris Skinner's photo series "I'm Your Constant in the Chaos" shows service dogs staying steady in crowded places, Alaska's News Source reported. The work was a finalist at the international Pet Photography Awards and grew into Beyond the Vest, a foundation meant to help pay for service-dog teams.

Skinner said her first service dog, Cooper, got her into photography. He was trained to help with her dysautonomia and POTS. She lost him in 2024 and now works with another service dog. The series is about the dogs in the frame, and the foundation is about the next team someone is waiting on.
