Tucson Fire rescued a person from a burning commercial building near North Ferro Avenue and East 6th Street on Wednesday evening, KVOA reported. Crews were sent at 5:16 p.m. Engine 2 was there four minutes later and found a large two-story building, with smoke coming from several units and sprinklers running in one of them.

A bystander told the crews someone might still be in that unit. Firefighters forced a heavy iron door and used a thermal imaging camera to find the person, who was taken to a local hospital. The station said no other injuries were reported. The fire was in a loft on the second floor. A second alarm at 5:44 p.m. brought more people, and the fire was under control at 6:02 p.m. Eighteen units responded. The cause is under investigation. The report does not name the person.
