Kindness Challenge

Kindness challenge: Oct 19 to 25, 2026.

Make a small thank-you, such as a paper card, and give it to a grown-up your family already knows.

Kids in Bluefield dressed up and brought candy to shops as a thank-you, instead of only collecting it. A paper card for someone you already know is a safe way to try the same idea.

Three easy ways

At school

The class writes thank-you cards for the school office, and the teacher delivers them.

At home

Make a paper card at the kitchen table and give it to a grown-up in your home.

In the neighborhood

With a grown-up you live with, thank a neighbor your family already knows. Do not go to a door you do not know.

Teacher note

Keep the thank-you inside the group of people the students already know. Read the linked story aloud before the class starts. Do not send children off alone. Do not collect a child's name, age, school, or email.

This page is for an adult to lead. The classroom section has more stories to read aloud.

This week's kindness challenge is a small thank-you for a grown-up your family already knows. Nothing to buy, and no one new to meet.
