Kindness Challenge

Kindness challenge: Oct 12 to 18, 2026.

Draw a small picture, write one hopeful sentence, and give it to a classmate or someone in your family.

Friends of Woodston Library in Peterborough are making seed packets with hopeful notes to give away. A drawing and one kind sentence can carry that same idea.

Three easy ways

At school

Students draw in class and trade cards with a partner they already sit near.

At home

Leave the drawing on a family member's pillow or beside their plate.

In the neighborhood

With a grown-up you live with, tuck the drawing into a library book you are returning. Stay together, and do not hand it to someone you do not know.

Through October, Friends of Woodston Library are inviting people of all ages to make seed packets with a hopeful message and give them away.

Teacher note

Colored pencils and scrap paper are enough. Read the linked story aloud before the class starts. Deliver anything the class made yourself, and do not send children off alone. Do not collect a child's name, age, school, or email.

This page is for an adult to lead. The classroom section has more stories to read aloud.
