Coming up

Coming up: Dec 7 to 13, 2026.

With a grown-up at home, make a simple snack and share it with your family.

A bakery in Atlanta spends the year baking with adults who want a place to belong after high school. Making a snack at home and sharing it with your family is a free way to practice that welcome.

Three easy ways

At school

The class writes a no-cook snack idea to try at home. Do not ask students to bring food to share unless the school already allows it.

At home

Make the snack with a grown-up and eat it together.

In the neighborhood

With a grown-up you live with, drop a sealed snack you already have into a food drive your school is already running. Stay together.

Teacher note

Follow your school's food rules. Home is the place to make the snack. Read the linked story aloud before the class starts. Do not send children off alone. Do not collect a child's name, age, school, or email.

This page is for an adult to lead. The classroom section has more stories to read aloud.

The share text does not give away the story.
