Clark County firefighters answered a house fire around 8:47 a.m. Thursday on the 9000 block of Hawaiian Summer Street, near Eastern Avenue and Silverado Ranch Boulevard, News 3 Las Vegas reported. Senior Deputy Fire Chief Kenny Holding said crews found the garage heavily involved and put hose lines on it immediately. They kept the fire from spreading farther through the house.

While searching the home, firefighters found a cat and carried it out. One person was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital. Thirty firefighters responded. Holding said the cause has not been determined.
