Today/Good News Table Talk
Thanksgiving 2026
Good News Table Talk.
Printable conversation cards for Thursday, November 26, 2026. Each card is a real story from the archive: a short summary, one question, and a link to the full report. Pass a card at the table and talk about that, instead of arguing about the news.
This address stays the same each year. The cards are chosen again from stories already on the site, so a later Thanksgiving can reuse the page. Summaries are copied from the classroom text. The question is a prompt. It does not add facts.

A gratitude round
Ten minutes is enough. Skip any card that does not fit your table.
- One person draws a card and reads the good news out loud.
- That person answers the question in one sentence.
- Anyone else may add one sentence. There is no wrong answer.
- The next person draws. Stop after four cards, or whenever the table is ready.
For classrooms
Use this the week before Thanksgiving break, while the class is still together. A teacher reads one card, then students turn to a partner and answer the question. Two cards is enough for one sitting. Do not collect names, photos, or email addresses. Do not ask a student to describe a private family matter. Skip a card that does not fit the room. The same cards can go home for the table.
