Folsom police officers Chernyavskiy and Sena were recognized for a cardiac arrest on Sept. 19, Folsom Times reported. Chernyavskiy started CPR in the first minutes. Officer Sena arrived soon after and helped with the compressions. Members of the Folsom Fire Department joined them and continued the emergency care.
The department said the combined work brought the patient's circulation back. The person was awake and communicating with emergency medical personnel before the trip to a hospital. Fire Chief Ken Solak and members of the fire command staff later visited the police department to thank the two officers. The announcement did not include a later update from the hospital, and this account does not add one.
