The 15th annual Book Share, run by SEEDS at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, turned a mountain of donated reading into take-home libraries. The Pike County Courier reported on October 7, 2026, that people gave more than 43,000 books and that more than 28,000 found new homes. More than 1,300 readers came from northeast Pennsylvania and from Rhode Island and Vermont.
Jessica Kjera coordinated this year's share. Volunteer leads Jean Kammer and Linda Lohner worked with more than 150 people who put in 813 hours, sorting titles from children's books to history and crafts. Books left at the end were recycled or sent to New Legacy Books in New Jersey, which resells them for local nonprofits. The 2027 dates are already set for September 18 and 19.
