A group of musicians in Lansing tried to see how long a jam could run without stopping. NPR, in a report from WKAR's Sophia Saliby on October 1, 2026, said the attempt started Monday at 10 a.m. with six players on a restaurant stage. Organizer Jeff Boog and friends recruited more than 100 musicians, professionals and amateurs, to swap in shifts.

There is no official Guinness record for the longest jam, so they aimed past the longest nonstop session they could find: 57 hours played in Spain in 2024. They crossed that mark Wednesday night, kept going, and put the instruments down at 10 p.m. after 60 hours. Organizers said they plan to submit the performance to Guinness and are ready to play again if someone goes longer.
