A young Nebraska fan named Sam spent a weekend he had wanted for a long time on the field with the Huskers, KMTV 3 News Now reported. Dream On 3, which arranges sports experiences for children living with serious challenges, and the University of Nebraska Collegiate Dream team built a three-day visit for Sam and his family, including on-field passes, during Big Noon Kickoff weekend in Lincoln.

Sam was born with Down syndrome and Hirschsprung's disease. Dream On 3 also lists Type 1 diabetes, celiac disease, and other conditions. His mother told the station he has lived for the chance to be on that field. The Huskers lost the game. The story the station told is about the weekend, not the score.
