Mechanics at Christian Brothers Automotive in Overland Park gave up a day off and spent four hours on free oil changes and safety inspections. The appointments were for single mothers and widowed mothers. Fifteen to 20 families came through.
The cars left with fresh oil and a look at anything that needed a second glance. The shop did the work on time the staff would otherwise have had off.
