Shu Bao, the youngest giant panda at Everland in Yongin, is about to meet the public. The Korea Herald reported on October 27, 2026, that visits at Panda World begin Friday, October 30.

She was born June 3 to mother Ai Bao and father Le Bao through natural breeding, the fourth giant panda born in Korea after Fu Bao and the twins Rui Bao and Hui Bao. Everland said she weighed 171 grams at birth and now weighs more than 9 kilograms. Ahead of the debut she has been walking the empty outdoor enclosure with her mother, learning the ground and the smells. Zookeeper Kang Cheol-won said she still stays close to Ai Bao, and also toddles off, plays, and practices climbing.

Her name, chosen for her 100th day, means "a treasure as bright as the light of dawn." It took 42 percent of about 220,000 votes. The park said it will lengthen viewing hours and add visitors gradually, with her health first. Rui Bao and Hui Bao are due to start quarantine on November 13 before a move to China, with their last public day at Everland set for December 11. Until then, the family of five can still be seen together. The debut is a first public look, not a claim about the wild population.
