Greater Peoria Honor Flight had veterans and guardians in Washington on Tuesday, 25News Now reported. It was the organization's 41st flight and the fourth of 2026. The plane left around 6:45 a.m. with dozens of veterans and the people traveling with them, for a day at monuments and memorials.

The station said the trip is free for the veterans. Donations cover travel, meals, and the planning that gets the group there and back. A public welcome was set for about 9:30 that night at Peoria International Airport. The report was filed while the group was still in the capital, so it describes the departure and the day ahead, not a welcome that had already happened.
