Toyota dealers in the Philadelphia region sent more than 80 Tundras through the city on Wednesday for the 17th annual Toyota Tundra Food Drive. Organizers said the convoy carried a record of more than 354,000 pounds of food for Philabundance, about 295,000 meals. The trucks left a warehouse on the 300 block of West Berks Street around 9:45 a.m., crossed the city to Citizens Bank Park, and the food then went on to Philabundance.
Paul Muller of the Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association said it is heartbreaking to picture a family choosing between heat and groceries. Over the previous 16 years, the drive has collected more than four million pounds.
