Good morning. It is Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Here are three pieces of good news.
First, in Aldabra Atoll: Aldabra giant tortoises live on a remote atoll in Seychelles. A new study estimates about 180,000 adults and older juveniles, the highest count on record. University of Exeter reported it.
Next, in Onion Lake Cree Nation: A community garden on Onion Lake Cree Nation grew more than 1,300 kilograms of food this year. CBC News reported the harvest on October 7, 2026. CBC News reported it.
And one more, in Tallahassee, Florida: Kinsley Locke, a sophomore in Tallahassee, Florida, has spent about ten years collecting stuffed animals and giving them to fire departments in her county. She has now passed 2,000 donations, a project she calls Kinsley's Cuddles for Kids. She is widening the giving to children in foster care, and she hopes to donate another 1,000 stuffed animals this year. Firefighters often keep a plush toy for a child at a hard scene. WCTV reported it.
Kindness thought for the day: Help without being asked, then let the other person have the credit.
