Good morning. It is Thursday, October 8, 2026. Here are three pieces of good news.
First, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado: Butcherknife Creek runs beside an elementary school in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. A charitable trust and local fly fishers rebuilt the stream so trout have better habitat. Middle and high school students are already using it as an outdoor classroom. The idea started with two teachers who fish. Steamboat Pilot & Today reported it.
Next, in Cape Neddick, Maine: An Eastern red bat was found struggling in the waves on a beach in Maine. Popular Science reported it.
And one more, in Manchester, Vermont: Eighth graders at Maple Street School in Manchester, Vermont, spent an afternoon on a small kindness. They took dahlias from a local farm, before the first frost, made individual bouquets, and wrote notes to go with them. They walked to a grocery store and handed the flowers to employees and shoppers. Manchester Journal reported it.
Kindness thought for the day: Hold the door, share a smile, or let someone go first. A small kindness can change someone's whole morning.
That's today's good news from Tazzora.
