Good morning. It is Monday, October 12, 2026. Here are three pieces of good news.
First, in Motín del Oro, Michoacán: On the coast of Michoacán, Mexico, the first olive ridley sea turtle hatchlings of the season dug out of the sand at a community camp called Motín del Oro. Local people have been watching the nests. MiMorelia reported it.
Next, in Klamath River, near the former Iron Gate Dam: Chinook salmon are swimming again in most of the Klamath River habitat that four dams blocked for about a hundred years. Mongabay reported it.
And one more, in Sabal Forest Reserve: At Sabal Forest Reserve in Sarawak, Malaysia, about 100 people planted 700 young native trees on October 10, 2026. Students from Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak worked with the Sarawak Forest Department and people from the community. The trees were selangan, resak, and meranti, species that belong in that forest. Sarawak Daily reported it.
Kindness thought for the day: Leave a place a little nicer than you found it. Picking up one scrap of paper counts.
That's today's good news from Tazzora.
