A mobile stand down in a Vineland parking lot helped 106 veterans on October 28, the most the event has reached, The American Legion reported. The American Legion's Department of New Jersey took part with the Wilmington VA Medical Center, Catholic Charities, the Elks' veterans service, and New Jersey's Department of Veterans Affairs.
Veterans could get help with claims and benefits. The afternoon also offered flu and COVID vaccinations and support through the VA Homeless Program. Past department commander Bob Looby said the Walmart parking lot worked as a site, and that the store has been the group's largest financial supporter since an Atlantic City stand down began 11 years ago.
